  • American Red Cross Grant Wood Chapter serves the residents of Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, Linn, Johnson, Jones and Washington counties in Eastern Iowa. The Grant Wood Area Chapter assists area residents prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters and other life-threatening emergencies.
  • Catherine McCauley Center for Women The Catherine McAuley Transitional Housing Program is unique in Iowa, providing unaccompanied women over the age 18 with a safe place to live and an individualized program of guidance and education to help them stabilize their lives.
  • Foundation 2 Youth Shelter is an emergency shelter for youth, between the ages of 11-17, who are experiencing a personal or family crisis, which makes it necessary to temporarily live away from home.
  • Mission of Hope Shelteroffer a Christ-centered ministry 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the physical, emotional & spiritual needs of former offenders and others in need. Also meals daily.

  • Waypoint Service Domestic Violence Shelter & Program provides support services to help victims and their families deal with the trauma of domestic violence or sexual assault. All of our services are free and confidential. Also offers help in locating housing for those who are homeless or victims of domestic violence who must relocate for safety needs.
  • Willis Dady Emergency Shelter provides immediate shelter to homeless single men and families in a safe, clean, and caring atmosphere, which promotes progress toward ending the cycle of homelessness.

Iowa City

  • HACAP (Hawkeye Area Community Action Program) HACAP’s housing programs for low-income households work to sustain current housing and utilities. Programs for homeless households provide housing and resources to transition people from a homeless economic condition to self-sufficiency.
  • Shelter House Community Shelter & Transition Services is a non-profit organization that has provided housing and supportive services to the homeless of Southeast Iowa since 1983.Shelter House is Johnson County, Iowa's only general use homeless shelter, providing transitional shelter to men, women, and children, including the disabled the elderly.
  • Four Oaks Youth Emergency Shelter (YES) provides emergency and temporary care, as well as supervision, to runaway, homeless, and transitional children ages 11 through 18. Referred youth may be victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, emotionally disturbed, behaviorally disordered, runaways, homeless, alleged delinquents who do not require a secure setting or any youth in similar crisis situations that may place them at risk.
